      Kenneth W. Rice, 75, of East Lawn, Nazareth, died Sept. 15 in St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. He was married to Carol B. (Haring) Rice for 49 years. He was a production engineer for Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, for 13 years before retiring in 1986. Previously, he was a machinist for Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg. Born in Coopersburg, he was a son of the late John H. Jr. and Esther (Wambold) Rice. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth. He was an aviation radioman in the Navy during World War II, serving with a sea plane squadron and achieving the rank of third class petty officer. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, World War II Victory Medal, American and Pacific theater ribbons, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Combat Air Crewman Wings. Survivors: Wife; sons, Timothy J. and Kenneth J., both of Bethlehem, Dale R. of Bethlehem Township, Brian E. of Easton; daughter, Cynthia M. Gaston of Bushkill Township; brother, Dean E. of Blue Bell, Montgomery County; sisters, Jeanette R. Schweitzer of Allentown, Mae L. Elethorpe of Palm, Carol B. Brink of Somerville, N.J., Nancy D. of Bath; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
