Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Mahlon F. and Dorothy E. (Sechler) Schwar. Jack was a 1954 graduate of Emmaus High School. He was a veteran of the United State Army, with service during Vietnam. Mr. Schwar attained the rank of Master Sergeant specializing in strategic microwave systems repair. He retired after 26 years of dedicated service in 1986. Jack was an avid collector, genealogist, photographer and Penn State football fan. Jack, of District Township, passed away at the age of 78, at Phoebe Allentown, where he was a resident since December 12, 2014. Jack is survived by his sisters, Fay L. (Schwar) Cox, District Township, Carol J. (Schwar) Fiori, Topton, Elaine E. Schwar, Topton, and Linda (Schwar) Hetherington, Coopersburg; and a brother, James Schwar, Kutztown. Funeral services held January 17, 2015 in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Internment in Northwood Cemetery, Emmaus.
